It sounds complicated.
I don't have a can or whatever.
Using my dad's... compressor?

Why remove the battery? Why block the fans?

I didn't block the fans in my iMac.
Remove the battery so that their is no electricity running through the system, so you can remove the risk of electrocution (depends on the method you use to clean though)

Just gonna blow the dust away.
Can't get too near either cause the compressor blows quite hard.

Ohhk, well then you shouldn't need to take out the battery, thought you were going to open up your laptop.

cuz when fans spin they make electricity and then short out your laptarp.

and all youll be doing is blowing the dust inside the laptop and increasing the likelyhood that itll short it out. :c

That's what I was saying... It's too complicated, I'll just let it die slowly and buy another one when this one's too dirty... *sarcasm*

I won't waste my money nor my time.
I'll just do the same as with my iMac.
Blow the dust from inside.
The iMac is basically a laptop and there was no problem.

9. Threads must have a sensible title.
When creating a new thread, make sure the thread's title gives a clear and specific idea of its content. For example, never name a deck thread "Best team ever" or name a thread asking a question, "Can you help me?" Give them specific titles. In the case of a question, it is advised to ask the question, or at least part of it, in the title, and go into further detail in the thread itself (ex: "Need help building an RU Team?"). Also, be aware of the topics made. Try to not create the same topic that was already made.

I have a huge ass problem. q_q
There's a glitched undeletable file in my Downloads folder.
I was converting video files and VLC crashed.
Now, this file -.asf- is stuck there.

Attempting anything with the file crashes explorer.exe.
I tried deleting it from WinRAR's file explorer, WinRAR crashed.
I tried FileAssassin, FileAssassin crashed.

Dragging it into the bin, pressing delete, right-click delete all crash explorer.exe. So does trying to reach the properties panel.

What can I do?

I don't wanna format just for 1 stupid file. q_q

EDIT: When I relaunch explorer.exe after it crashes, I cannot access any folder by any means and am forced to reboot. D;
EDIT: Now all my icons are loading but never showing up. I scanned with MSE and MBAM, all clean they didn't crash.
EDIT: Yeah... Obviously, moving the file also crashes explorer.exe.
I should say however that explorer does not crash instantly, it just loads and loads in an endless loop and if I press cancel, it loads the cancellation again and again, at some point it stops responding. Also, it seems like the file has no name/description/extension in the delete/move/cancel box.
I fear for my laptop. It's hot, really hot since it keeps trying to mess with that file. q_q

OMG~~~ I MADE IT~!
>Opened Chrome
>CTRL+O
>Went to my Downloads folder
>Selected the file
>Hit delete
>Emptied recycle bin

Why it worked? I have no idea.
However, I am quite glad. XD

Windows couldn't boot because the following file is missing or damaged: inf/biosinfo.inf.
Something like that.
That's not good right? D;
What could have caused this and how can I make it work?

EDITED with correct filename.

My dad's PC is on XP. Does it matter?
As a matter of stuff, I'm gonna put like the specs and everything...

Windows XP Home Service Pack 3
2.14GHZ DuoCore
2 Go RAM
300something nVidia 8800GS I think.
Kaspersky (deactivated)
MSE (activated)
MBAM (free version)

The PC would not boot.
Decided to run the recovery thing from the XP CD.
Still couldn't boot.
Clean install of Windows XP on formatted drive.
It would seem the install didn't complete.
Then the error appeared: Windows couldn't boot because the following file is missing or damaged: inf/biosinfo.inf.
Tried a couple of things to make it work.
- Copying the biosinfo.inf from the i8xx folder to the inf folder.
> Couldn't find the file.
- Removing the battery.
- Booting in Safe Mode
> No results.
I'm assuming maybe the install of XP failed after the copying of files for the install...
But I don't know.
So, I believe there is no Windows on the drive.

run ubuntu and see if the hdd is good, and then format the drive to ntfs but dont install ubuntu, then try installing windows.

and if that dun work install win7 (if the gfx card has 256mb of vram)
