and if that dun work install win7 (if the gfx card has 256mb of vram)

Which Ubuntu version should I get oh great manitou?
Is it the Ubuntu desktop from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/download
Or was there a Flashdrive one? Or is that something else?

That one is the USB/CD trial thingy: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/try-ubuntu-before-you-install

How do I check if the HDD is good?
I went and browsed the files on it and as I feared, Windows files are there. The ones before the actual install.

I cannot run Check Filesystem and I cannot run Self-Tests either.
FileSystem: Device is mounted and no online capability in fsck tool for file system
The device is busy.
Self-Tests: FAILED (Read)

Error benchmarking drive. (tried that lol)
Error benchmarking: helper exited with exit code 1: Error reading 104857600 bytes at 104857600 from /dev/sda when guesstimating buffer size: Input/output error

SmartData reports:
Airflow Temperature: Failed in the past.
Current pending sector count: Warning.

That's what I thought. It's sad but at least it's just an HDD.
Thanks for your assistance~

I'm lending my iMac to my dad for the time being.
I can't leave him the Live Ubuntu cause it's on my mom's USB that she needs for school.
So I need to format that again. XD

Why?
Sadly I already cleared the USB.
I have like 12 500mb ones that are empty but that's too small to host it. Tongue

Well, I tried it a bit. I've been on it all day.
It feels kinda like OSX tbh. The interface is similar.
It's nice all-around but I'll stick to Windows 7.

My bro got a Cyborg R.A.T.7 gaming mouse for his birthday.
It was in April.
It's not working anymore.
It's not an issue with the drivers because he tried on my lappy and it didn't work either.
The laser is fine but most buttons including the left and right click don't work anymore.
It sucks.

On another note, my dad bought for his birthday, with the money he was gifted, some stuff for his PC.
He got a CD/DVD/BD player/burner. His old CD/DVD one burnt. Lol pun.
He also bought a new HDD since his old one was identified as broken thanks to Starrk and Live Ubuntu. He got a 500 GB one. His previous one was 250.
AND HE FINALLY GOT WINDOWS 7!
Yes, I know 8 is coming real soon. I told him too but whatever. At least he's not on XP anymore.

anything with gaming in the name is junk.

win8 is horrible. no more 3rd party programs, cant code anything with it anymore, and full retard gui. it is terrabad.

The point was not to get 8.
More like 7's prices would drop as 8 gets released.
Though I do like the GUI~
