Ok so to make things easier, I'm posting this topic to explain something to the Pokémon Battlers who have yet to know this. So I'll cut to the chase, saying "No Legendary Pokémon" in a battle is silly. Legendary means it's a plot device. Being Legendary doesn't automatically make a Pokémon super strong and bannable. For those who don't know, there is a list of things called Tiers. Here is the topic on Evionet about Tiers and other battling rules:
http://evionet.freesmfhosting.com/index.php/topic,65.0.htmlThe top tier is called
Uber. When making a battle thread and not wanting the super strong Pokémon like Mewtwo to show up, say "No Ubers". A standard battle bans Pokémon who are too strong and call them Ubers. A Pokémon is Uber if it's too strong and you want the powerful Pokémon to be banned to make it fair. A Pokémon that is Legendary may not be Uber. Something like Mesprit is a Legendary but it's far from Uber, it's in a low tier for it's not the best in a Competitive Battle. Why ban something that isn't going to be unfairly strong? And then of course there are Ubers who aren't Legendary, so it's based on strength and not being part of the plot of the story.
So basically, when asking for a battle. Don't say no legends. Say No Ubers and then the stuff that is strong can be banned, whether it's legendary or not. Thanks.
