Community Article-Best Pokemon to be in real world

I have an idea for an article similar to these ones(if you haven't read them, check them out):

They are articles that don't have any gaming advice, but just interesting reads from and for the minds of fans that aren't as much concerned with the stats and strategy as they are with the universe of Pokemon in its entirety.

I have an idea for one that I'd like you guys to help me with; top Pokemon that would be coolest/most functional in the real world(currently untitled). It would have 10-20 Pokemon(with their evolutionary lines) and explain why they would work in the real world better than other Pokemon. Maybe the Beautifly line because they would blend in with insects so well, Lapras and Arcanine because of their functionality as riding animals, and Eevee because of their similar role to cats and dogs(referring to breeding).

Some ideas for Pokemon to add to the list:

Wurmple, Silcoon, Beautifly, Cascoon, and Dustox
They blend in with real insects well and can bridge the gap between pets and undomestic insects(something like that)

Lapras
Useful as an aquatic riding animal, something that is pretty much non-existent in reality

Growlithe and Arcanine
Loveable pets and loyal lifetime companions, as well as a riding animal later in life

Eevee and the Eeveelutions
Loveable pets and could have a similar role to the cats and dogs when it comes to breeding

Lapras would indeed be very useful up there, good idea.

The best real Pokémon would be ones that have a practical use in the real world and can fit, maybe even help makes things better.  So those are the ones to think about.

Alakazam is smart, could be useful.

The Conkeldurr line, since in the Pokemon world they helped humans discover concrete and are used for helping out with construction projects.

That would take up most of the list, of course, but I also thought about adding Pokemon that could add interesting details to legends and history, like maybe Gyarados because it could be a creature of legend that would actually be real. Also, maybe Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina could take one slot on the list as legendary guardians of the universe.
Of course, these would probably come into play if we didn't find enough practical Pokemon.

Maybe. I see how it could work in the real world, but I personally wouldn't want a spirit around that could possess my electronics.

Also, along with the Gyarados as a real creature of legend, maybe the Trapinch line, since Trapinch and Vibrava could be common animals(maybe pets in places like Iraq and Saudi Arabia) but Flygon could be that legendary creature spoken of but only seen by few

I think Vulpix and Ninetales would be great as friends/companions/pets.
