So, my mother has decided that because I'm turning 16 in 20 days, it's a huge deal and she knows that I don't really like having parties. So she told me that she would get me anything I asked for, excluding a car and a 1600 Microsoft point card that I always ask for. I was thinking of buying a gaming laptop/computer because my Mac can't run any thing except Team Fortress 2, and it can barely do that. But there is some other things I thought about getting.

Should I go for a gaming computer?

Build it, don't buy a pre-built.

If you can't build it, don't even bother with pre-built.

If you want to play computer games, get a computer. You can build a nice gaming desktop yourself, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're unfamiliar with building computers. Buying a pre-built machine isn't bad, despite what elitists may say.

Now they come with Windows 8 without any install disks for it.
So you can't format and install just Windows.
You can only use the Windows 8 thingy that cleans the PC.
However, it also reinstalls all the crapware.

And you need a valid Windows to play Games for Windows LIVE.

I own a pre-built.
Nothing but problems

most own pre-built.

I say learn it, and build a gaming rig.
If not, your going to have to pay almost twice as much if you want a pre-built that doesnt suck.

My Vaio is nice though.
Sony did not include too much crapware and no impossibly hard to unsinstall AV either.
I even kept some of their stuff cause it was nice.

However, HP, Asus, Toshiba, and probably all the rest are full of junk.

I heard Lenovo was pretty good though.

Lenovo, digital storm, and sony all make good laptops/computers.

Listen, Ian knows as much about computers as your average grandma in a retirement home, he wont be able to build one, or install windows or anything like that. He really needs a prebuilt.
