Should I get B/W before B/W2?

Was wondering if I should purchase Black/White before I got Black/White 2 or if it really even matters.

I'd suggest B/W 1, while I think 2 is the better game, there are references and the Memory Link feature that can connect your B/W 1 save to 2 which adds some neat continuity stuff.
It really depends if you care about the story or not.

Just get Black and skip BW2 like me.
You'll just do the same stuff in a different order in BW2 anyway.

Just picked up white today, and am playing. Started with Oshawott, and Im looking at the pokedex online to see what pokemon I want to look out for, for my final 6


Any recommendations? And I am noobing it up right now, what older series pokemon can I use in this version?

in BW you can't use any pre gen 5 pokemon till after the Elite Four the first time.  In BW2 it's different though and you are able to use a bunch of pre gen 5 mons.

BW was kind of a reboot for Pokemon.
GameFreak wanted everyone to enjoy new Pokemon.
It relaunched Pokemon's popularity. Though it never was unpopular in my eyes.
But I guess GameFreak wanted more moniez. XD

There are 300 pokemon before NDex in B/W2, the most of any game's regional dex.

I mean there are so many choices.

Imo, they should make a game that's not 80% Tentacool and Zubat.

Woobat was a nice addition though it's quite annoying and ugly... but diversity~

300 really? It makes sense that the regional Pokedex get bigger at some point.
They just have so many monsters now.
And everyone wants to have their favorite right off the bat~

Zubat is only in one location, the sewers.
The other caves and indoor locations don't have zubats.
its a **** miracle, Game freak finally realized that zubats DON'T BELONG IN EVERY CAVE.

I like the 300 Pokemon. I mean, there are so many good choices.

I already decided I'd skip BW2, but I am looking forward to XY.
