Face it, this site is going slow, as much as you guys don't want to admit.
You want a small community, we can manage that.
Despite what we wish, our members can't last forever.
Some got old and need to go to collage or work.
Examples:
Richie, Silver, Vlatko
Or others just grew out of pokemon.
Miku, Loomy
Some Current members have minor interest in Pokemon:
Magoo, Me,

I think we need to like. Push for a revolution. As a team. As A group. Don't think we can do it? Well we did it before, kinda, and got some members back.

We need younger members. Members that are interested in pokemon.
We need a change of format. Try to strive for a new name, and a new theme. We need to look professional, we need to stand out.
But right now we stand out too much.

We need a name that is instantly recognizable as a Pokemon Site.
We need a theme that is professional, and isn't the default.
We need a vibe that is both Mature and Fitting for Pokemon.
We need to stand out, and work as one.
VIVA LA REVOLUTION! WE NEED MEMBERS!

Now you may be thinking.
"Damn Zohaib, your charismatic. And that picture is hilarous, but whats the point of all this?"
Well, my young freind.
The answer is. We aren't doing so well. Evionets going slow, and we want, we NEED new members. We need to keep this community going, so why don't we start today. Why don't we work as a group and revolutionize evionet.

I agree with younger members, they'll care less how the site looks, and be more interested in the fact that it's Pokemon. It also means the site will last longer as younger members will likely stay for at least a few years before doing other stuff.

But yeah, we need a revolution or something, maybe if anyone sees any pokemon fan on like, youtube or something they should try and persuade them to join over here.

But we'd break evionet, it happened before, especially on PPN when timmeh was trying to make the B/W boards and just general optimizing the code. We need backup servers and stuffs yo.

But would you have the time to code and maintain a website with your jerb and schooling and life?

we should really work on it though.

Changing the colors is easy, and changing stuff is easy, I know how SMF works.

But like, the name and shiz, and then we have to figure out how to attract new members, and none of us have IRL friends who will join...

Here we go again...
Once every 4 months, Zohaib, like a prophet, wakes up and does a desperate call for attention towards the issue of Evionet's imminent death.
The whole community's focus is targeted on the newly created thread, and heated discussions follow.
A debate is ignited, and basic points are agreed on.
First, new members are needed. Second, actual members need to be more active. Third, the forum look needs a change. Fourth, the whole forum should shift its focus. Fifth, new projects should be started.
The community's moral is boosted, and for the next few days, two threads aside from ToT, QoD and PokemonXY News become active.
Happiness is back on the boards, our family is about to grow tremendously.
Then we all watch and wait for the newcomers. We wait for the site changes. We wait for the others to become active.
But the fact is, that we are the concept of "others" to the people we ourselves consider as being "others".

So Phase 2 begins. People start complaining about the "others" doing nothing. The newly created thread gets all the attention, in public boards by the way, so that visitors can see our internal struggles.
Some members decide that they don't want to be forced to post or to invite friends, so they leave the community.

Who now can say that history isn't repeating itself?

Last time, our great, life-changing decision was to create a Twitter account.
Okay, we got it, we had like 4 subscribers (who are already Evionet members) and that many tweets.
So much fulfillment.

I'm tired of arguing about this every time. Last time (or was it the time before? I keep mixing all of them...) the excuse for not having a brand new site was because Justin was busy. But I don't think admin powers have enough reach to attract new members and more activity.
As I am saying every time, nobody wants to leave really, but nobody seriously wants to put effort in making things happen.
We keep talking about the past, how PPN was awesome, how Ludicom was awesome, how this and that was awesome, how these members who left were awesome.
We're a grave, let's face it. The mourning souls of a community that used to be great.

Now, among the things we can actually do, I have an idea:

I think nobody really cares about whether or not we're having new faces around here. What we want (or at least what I want), is to have common ground and to have fun together.
It used to be Roleplaying, Trading, Competitive Battling and Art Contests, but our interests changed.
How about we just have a get-together game of some sort? I'm suggesting Minecraft, or any other online and free game. A bit like what we were doing back in the EverybodyEdits and Xat Doodle.
And then as we play and get a nice thing going, we can invite people we know on that server, may it be our friends, family, or random people, and as we are chatting and getting to know everyone we can slowly introduce them to the community that got everything going.
Because we don't want to work for Evionet. We want to play for Evionet. Don't forget that we're a game forum, not a chore forum.

So yeah, I suggest that nobody replies to this in less than two paragraphs, unless quoting part of what I wrote.

I've been trying to get new members ever since I joined this community, way back in 2011. It's not as easy as it seems.

I completely agree, Rosim.  I'm tired of feeling obligated to mass post and tire myself out for a week when I know the activity will only last that long.
Half of us don't even play Pokemon anymore, and the most activity related to the site takes place in external chats like Skype or Steam.

I'm happy to stay with the community, but I don't think we can keep going like this on a forum...

We just need to once again remember that talking about it isn't enough and that the power to make a change and gain activity is with all of us.  If people do it, then that's an issue solved, but instead our posts are about how there isnt enough activity (this is so meta) so let's actually do it.  We can't just give up cos we think it isnt working and one burst of posts over a day isn't going to do much in the long term, we need to do it consistently.  Now I'm thinking a burst of topics might be good to start however because it spreads the places we can have discussions.
