There are links to the other comics during this comic so it makes more sense.
In short,
2 brothers, Blue Mann and Red Mann, or something like that, started a fued between eachother over some gravel business. That's pretty much the backstory to the orginal TF2. A third brother was recently found and killed Red and Blue. The third was Grey. He plans on replacing the mercs with robots, so he can dominate the family business and soon everything. He starts by attacking Mann Co. to take it over. All the previous Mercenaries are fired, and the this comic starts a saga of where they try to rehire all the old mercs.
The big Australian shirtless guy is Saxton Hale, CEO of Mann Co., a company that sells weapons and creates weapons. He's like the manliest man on the face of the planet.
The Game & Comics take place in the 1960s. Somewhere in New Mexico. The town is called Teufort. (Named After the 2Fort map in TF2).
