This is like the ToT except for RPing discussion primarily, I can use it to make announcements or to think of things for the RP.  Ideas for new RPs dont go in this topic, they go in the other one, but possible thoughts on the existing RPs go in here.

Dem Timezones' a Beach...

Chaos asked me to bring this up yesterday and I agree with him about it; so here is a notice to everyone;

Many of the posts are getting to be really short and dont really advance anything.  The act of tiny posts means the replies have to be tiny of we have to switch to other characters we have to do something.  If the posts were more average size as opposed to single sentences, that would be useful and much better.  If you don't have much to say in the RP, wait till you have some more ideas.  You don't have to feel obligated to reply instantly, don't get pressured by other peoples wanting to post, wait for everyone to be around and then post enough things for everyone to be able to reference it.  Many RPing sites have posts that are way too long yeah but you guys are starting to post way too small so I'd like to at least have average middling size posts.  It takes one person to start a bout of mini posts, there always needs to be something that can be some sort of event in the rp, we can't have nothing happening.

well post all of your ideas on the idea topic and then perhaps everyone can think what the best one is and you could maybe make it, but keep in mind we have a couple other rps going at the moment and that having too many going on at once can cause innactivity.

looks like all the RPs died, what do we do now....
I could make a generic pokemon trainer RP which basically just continues onwards and you can put in pretty much whatever plot and go through lots of plots as your characters.  it would give a lot freedom and you'd be able to continue working on whatever with everyone.

definitely not going to have Johto until at least much later because starting out in Johto wont be interesting, I want lots of plots to be set up before we go somewhere bland because we'd need to fill it out with content.

no I dont have them saved cos obviously that would mean finding all the caches for each page which is hard to do and possibly not able to be done

or people could actually post and make the rps already there active before making a new one since another one would die too.  People need to prove they can actually commit before we have tons of dead ones all over the place.

Ok guys I'm putting on a cap on the RPs at the moment.  There are a few RP topics up now.  Noone post any more without permission.  If someone has an idea and everyone says "Yes I will join AND WILL POST IN IT" then I will let you do it, but since that isn't happening and we have like 4 rps now in which people might not actually post in them, let's see if any of them can be posted in.  So the amount of RPs allowed on the forum will be dictated by how many are actively going.
So until further notice, noone can make any new RPs and must make do with the existing ones to get their quota of story goodness.  Also if they post in my rps, I'll give them a virtual cookie.

I'd rather an rp die from no signups than die after everyone signed up and didnt post because they give false hope >.<

People, just a reminder. If you are going to a sign up for an rp, you have to post in it. It doesn't matter how good the post is. Trust me. I make super short posts, but that's just to keep the story going. I know for a fact that in the SOU/Dark Society/Pokemon crossover, some who have signed up haven't even posted yet. Not posting in an rp is like breaking a promise. It makes the rp creator upset.

It's not that no one wants to rp with you.You have excellent ideas for fps and everyone loves them. It's just that  everyone keeps forgetting to post because they become busy.

It is hard when we only have a few people willing to actually RP.

I am still willing to RP. I just don't have the sufficient knowledge to join the current RPs.

And I was wondering, should we have two separate sections for RPs, one for Sign-Ups and one for actual Roleplays?

The board isn't big enough for that, nor would it be neccessary when we can just have IC and OOC tags on them.  We can handle it fine, in fact it I specifically requested they be one board when the site was made because it's easier than switching between boards.

and good to see that people are willing to try again, I might be able to set up something.

I think the most general thing we could start with is a generic pokemon rpg. Maybe that might get people to begin. Sort of like a tutorial/try out.

I have one in mind that's very simple. I can make the Thread and see if others find it interesting.

I will definitely join this. :D It has been a while since I RPed so this will help me to get back into RPing. The current ones is already far into the story so It is hard for me to catch up if I join.

I need to put this somewhere for later and I guess this is the best place to put it, since we could use it for Roleplaying in the future

It's hard to tell if this section lives yet, but if it doesn't, I'm fetching my max revives and phoenix downs, and creating an RP. I can't promise it will be a Pokemon RP, but it might be. More likely I'll use an old idea of mine called Divided. Or perhaps Heaven and Earth. I may adapt Free the Mind and post it here, but it will be bizarre having the same RP on two forums going in different directions.

I suppose it comes down to these ideas:

Generic Pokemon RP: I create a custom region with gyms, elite four, etc, deciding which Pokemon to use from which gens, and we play it out like a normal Pokemon game.

Divided: There are two worlds. Elas and Duo. Both are nearly identical, but every time something differs in sends them closer to the brink of destruction... Basically the gimmick of this is that there are two of every character, an Elas version and a Duo version. You have a bad guy doing things in one world and not the other, thus creating differences, and you have to stop him from crashing the two worlds together.

Heaven and Earth: In a more traditional fantasy RP, you have several races, like Elves, or Skyborn, Dwarves, or Earthborn, and ofc humans, or Those who Were not Meant to Be. The RP centers on the return of an ancient, evil race of long ago called the Bloodtwisted or sometimes Bloodless.

Free the Mind: Somewhat a horror RP, though likely scarier to the characters than the players. You have a city called Nix, and a creepy mansion at the center of it. Everyone who enters usually returns, but broken and insane. The characters are mostly average people who are encouraged to find out what the Mansion's deal is by a guy named Clock Barrows.

So which one do you guys think I should do?

sorry to tell you, but people seem to have stopped caring about roleplaying here. Even if people join, they stop caring before things get good.

Alright... There's a reason that I don't join/never continue doing the rps here... It's just that everyone here writes so much and does everything so well... And, well, I just am really worried that my posts won't meet the expectations set by all the other Rpers... Seriously... Every time I'm in an RP, most people's normal posts are over twice as long as my longest post... I just can't handle that feeling when I RP with you guys and that's why I drop out of them... I'm sorry if this disappoints you, or makes you happy, or shocks you, or whatever. I posted this because people are complaining about the lack of activity. This is my reason.

I stopped because of my failure of creativity, loss of interest and time.

I just can't push myself to make more posts here, because I can't think of any, and overall I don't have as much interest as I used to.

So we got to talking about RPs on Skype. Aryeh was talking about an RP idea and we also talked about reviving Pokemon War. I'm currently trying to think of something too.

I'm gonna repeat what I always say about Aryeh's ideas... They're all FANTASTIC, but for God knows why they always croak so early. :c

I have some awesome ideas in my head and both Daniel and Vansalon have some good stuff too, but we need to have more of us to keep interested and remember to check the rp topic daily.  I don't want to keep wasting my ideas by having them die, so I won't do it until I know people will stay with it.

I don't know why I didn't read this before but I have some advice for you. I felt exactly the same way when we started the PWT roleplay. But then, somehow I started writing and writing and writing, and I got into making full-scale posts. It takes a little bit to get into the rhythm, but it gets much easier. You just have to start thinking of your own ideas and how they can apply to world; maybe not the plot itself.

Would anyone else want to try to completely reboot this idea (http://evionet.freesmfhosting.com/index.php/topic,842.0.html)? I want to try a Pokemon story where we chronicle from when Pokemon start coming into our world. I don't want to have to limit it to Pittsburgh like I originally had planned.

WAIT A MINUTE. Awesome idea just struck me. What if we roleplay, but we play as ourselves. We tell the story as if we were just explaining how our regular lives went, just altered somewhat. I'm talking about school, work, IRL friends, day-to-day drama, and especially our interactions with each other here on Evionet itself! The main plot could be that we each find a Pokemon or two and we actually talk about it on the ToT. Then we could all meet up "IRL" but actually in the roleplay. Somehow, we would discover that the Pokemon World is merging with ours farther than just Evionet. Evolution stones are being dug up, a few wild Pokemon sightings have been reported, and other kinds of Pokemon elements show up as well.

EDIT: This might be better used in the Subnet, since real-life stuff would be used

I think that idea might work, except the problem with people giving out information like that.

Of course, no one has to give out completely real info. No one will know if it's real stuff or not, unless otherwise mentioned. I definitely won't use all real stuff. I probably won't use my IRL name either since I haven't given that out(but of course, it's been found by certain people). The only reason I suggest use of the Subnet is the fact that people will most likely want to use real info that should stay in the Subnet. And of course, the cool part isn't our actual lives, but the fact that they're going through massive changes due to the appearance of Pokemon.

There wouldn't exactly be a direct plot. We can work on it together as the story continues. I'll brainstorm some plot ideas and try to put stuff together for tomorrow.

Honestly I'm not feeling an rp where we are actually ourselves in real world though... we need an rp where it's easy to get together quickly cos some other people were saying how it's hard to rp without other peoples around helping eachother.  An rp like that would be the opposite of what we want.

We also need an RP where most or all of prior information is easy to understand, as I found with my SOW RPs, people typically don't like using their imagination to forward a story. SOW and SOU were supposed to be build upon my ideas (which was the backbone) and everyone elses' inspirations, but whenever someone did, they left it or the idea couldn't stick. :c

I mean, other than Aryeh's character, whom I fail to remember the name, attempted to destroy one of the worlds, which is hilarious because I planned that to happen but he did it anyways. c:

but yeah we need an rp that will be easy for people to jump on the backs of those who us who like coming up with stuff.

already thought of the transportation issue. I plan to make sure at least one of the Pokemon has a transportation ability(probably teleport) that can help us get together quickly. Also, this isn't going to be completely realistic. Someone could randomly find a small fortune somehow and help finance plane tickets XD
