Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: RSC Cooper Inc on March 05, 2013, 10:31:29 am I'll have to do this for Sunstreaks later, but for now, Cooper Estav has 16

Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Vansalon on March 09, 2013, 11:50:27 pm Got 10 for the only character of mine I tried. Probably went up mostly by the fact that the character, Kayra, has the ability to heal mortal wounds, though she can't raise the dead. There was almost nothing checked except for on-a-mission-to-save-the-world and that though xD
Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Jack Skellington on March 10, 2013, 05:38:18 pm Uh, I might have done something wrong, cause Xian got a score of 116.
Edit: 112, my bad. Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Vansalon on March 10, 2013, 08:51:28 pm Got 8 for Fire Emblem: Cursed Souls Vance. I seem to be good at creating non-mary sue characters xD

Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: RSC Cooper Inc on March 10, 2013, 10:11:02 pm I don't know if my score is good or bad. ...um.... here's the key for scoring... Quote -0-16 Points Most likely Not-Sue. Characters at this level could probably take a little spicing up without hurting them any. 17-21 Fanfiction characters can go either way at this point depending on the writer. For an MMO/RPG or original fiction character, however, you're most likely perfectly fine. 22-29 Original fiction and MMO/RPG characters can go either way at this point depending on the writer. Fanfiction characters may need some adjustment, however. 30-35 Fanfiction authors beware - Mary's on the loose. There's still a chance you can save this character with some TLC, though. Role-players and original fiction writers, you should also consider tweaking your character. 36+ Fanfiction authors, you might just want to start over. Role-players and original fiction authors, at this point your characters are likely to provoke eye-rolling and exclaimations of "yeah, right!" from your readers. (Well, at least from me.) Immediate workover is probably in order. 50+ It's probably a lost cause either way, or you didn't read instructions properly (some people don't do this, which causes freakishly high scores). If it's the latter case, read the instructions and take the test again. <:D Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Jack Skellington on March 10, 2013, 10:12:48 pm ...um.... here's the key for scoring... <:D maybe I should have read the directions.... Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Vansalon on March 11, 2013, 12:03:49 am None of my characters ever seem to be Mary Sue's. The one who came closest was Ziphos, a swordmaster/knife thrower character of mine in a FE RP who destroyed large numbers of generic mooks by himself on multiple occasions xD He got 21, decreased only slightly by being lazy, selfish and pointlessly cruel rather often. The best example of mass destruction caused by Ziphos is when he came upon a town being attacked by a large group of bandits near the beginning of the RP. He then proceeded to walk up to them, ask them which ones wanted to live, and then kill them all, with a series of stabs, thrown knives, backstabs, underhanded tactics, and nimble swordsmanship. It was fun to RP.

Little high for fanfic... i used to have an amazingly overpowered warriors oc named tanglepath in elementary school. sometimes i think about her and cry. i'm gonna go take the test so we can all laugh at the high score.Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: RSC Cooper Inc on March 11, 2013, 05:53:52 pm i used to have an amazingly overpowered warriors oc named tanglepath in elementary school. sometimes i think about her and cry. i'm gonna go take the test so we can all laugh at the high score. Sunstreaks got a lot of points mostly because he is supposed to be an additional cat added onto the prophecy of the Three(which later became the Four), and he has power like the Three Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Vansalon on March 11, 2013, 05:55:57 pm I have no idea what Warriors is, but it sounds like you're taking a lot of creative liberties with the canon there xD
Anyway, tested some more characters. Ryan from The Pale got 6, Ayrie (also from The Pale) got 9, and Airiahna from FtM got -5 xD Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: REECHEE on April 14, 2013, 09:07:45 pm Touya got a 48?
Not very surprised, he's the main protag of an anime-esque story, so that's rather low. xD Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Abigail on April 14, 2013, 10:12:18 pm I took this for one of my Homestuck OCs because I'm silly and making a fan story, and she scored a 6. I think this is... Boring. The character is actually a very good one, though. I need to write more about her, to be honest.

Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Daniel the Buizel on May 16, 2013, 08:38:37 pm Slight bump, but I decided to take this for my main character in Galaxy and got -4.
I have a hard time believing that's my actual score, I have to admit that I might have been a little liberal with the De-Suifiers xD Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Henri, le Chat Noir on May 16, 2013, 09:09:22 pm I want to mark random boxes, then make a character based on what I pressed [/quote that would be the most DISASTROUS THING Title: Re: The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test Post by: Abigail on May 16, 2013, 10:27:31 pm I want to mark random boxes, then make a character based on what I pressed WHOOPS DOING IT[/quote that would be the most DISASTROUS THING CAN'T STOP ME WISH ME LUCK YO |
