Ok so the Wii U didn't make the biggest splash and that's likely because it's launch titles were not as plentiful.

What Wii U titles do you want and/or think it needs to be better?

Wii U Needs:

- New Zelda title.  Could make use of the Wii U Pad for the inventory.  No more remakes please xD

- New Pokémon title.  Needs PLOT.  We dont want another stadium.  We need a storyline.

- A unique Mario title.  Not another Super Mario Bros Wii U thing.  Galaxy and Paper were both unique, so try something new that works as well as they did.

- New Kirby title.  Epic Yarn was a bit of a miss.  Go back to Kirby's roots and try something real good.


- DS Player.  The Wii didnt have one but now the Wii U has two screens technically, so it could do this!  DS on big screen please!

GTA V
Get a quality game if rockstar ports it properly, gain more people.
There have been worse games, and rockstar said Nintendo will let them make a GTA for the WiiU, but its hard to develop.

It's because the Tablet sucks and you can't get it separately, and it makes the WiiU the most expensive system available, the Wii did so well because it was the cheapest system, and the Wii's launch titles weren't super great either.

It's also trying to be 2 things at once and failing at both of them.

tl;dr WiiU is too expensive and schizophrenic for success

Nintendo dropped the ball with the WiiU, and with PS4 and 720 around the corner, the WiiU is going to be walked all over by them, and left behind. The WiiU is still not as good as the PS3/360 hardwarewise! Step up Nintendo! D:

They promised too much.
In the end, it tries to be a tablet but it ends up just being a Wii with HDMI.

They are trying to hard to be like the others rather than being a step ahead.

I say ditch the wii name
Make a new console
Before 720/Ps4
Make sure it is better than whatever Ps4/720 promises.

And make everyone waste another 400$ because they'll be in the ditch profit-wise.

Nintendo can't survive on endless remakes and rehashes forever you know. It's like Murikan comics. They keep releasing the exact same super hero comics every year, just retold SLIGHTLY differently with a newish art style, and they stopped being as popular because it gets old after so many years.

From what I understand, they add like 3 new monsters to hunt each game. Sounds boring D:

Pokemon adds 100 and more each time and it's still boring.
You gotta change the game more than that.
Like Tales. Namco even tried a monster hunting direction once.

Pokemon games are the first time playing through, then they get boring unless you have friends to play with. :c

A console can have both casual and gamer stuff at the same time and many of them do (PS3 and Xbox360 have some casual games ya know), it's just the companies arent giving Nintendo the chance even though Nintendo wants them.  The Wii did mess up their rep by ignoring the gamer stuff and so they gotta get it back and are struggling to.

@Starrk - comic sales are way on the rise.  They have done some brand new things and projects which got loads of people, not to mention the movies helped a lot.  Both Marvel and DC brought their A-game and trying out loads of new things all the time.  So it's not exactly the same, so don't make asumptions about something you don't know about k.

PS3 and Xbox have casual stuff but it's all bad dance games which nobody even bothers buying unless your a 30 year old single mom.

Nintendo isn't giving developers a chance. It's hard to develop on the tablet, and companies know it's not a big payoff.

With Xbox/Ps3 games they can just develop the regular game, port it to the other console and make profit.
When they port it to the wii they have to work with Wii's ultimate gimmick, the tablet. Also you don't get that big off a payoff with the WiiU because it's launch sales where slower than both the xbox and ps3.
It's not worth the time for most gaming developers.
Also maybe if they got rid of the "Wii" from their name that could help a bit.

It's too late though, just like the regular Wii, Nintendo will now have to rely on Nintendo fans to buy their products, not gamers in general. If they keep doing this they are just going to lose Nintendo fans till their is nothing.
Nintendo these days relies on remakes or retools of games they already have instead of making new ones.
Yes, so what if Super Paper Mario on the Wii is completely different. Someone who didn't played the first paper mario games can easily mistake that one for another retool. I mean it still has the same title and art style.

The gimmick they chose for the WiiU was a bad one. Though imo they should quit relying on gimmicks.
Gamecube, n64 and could actually compete with the competition without stupid gimmicks because it was on-par with consoles of it's time.
SNES dominated the market but it didn't have anything other systems didn't have. It just happened to have better exclusives and it was more bang for your buck.
Same with the NES.
None of these had any pointless gimmicks, and they can be considered some of the best consoles in history.
The Wii only sold well because of gimmicks, it just got to the top and sat there. Everyone has one, but barely anybody still uses it.
The WiiU is just .5% better than the Ps3 and Xbox performance wise.
Right now I'm paying an extra $100-200 for a tablet and mediocre games, the only good ones are already on Xbox/Ps3 for much cheaper [Mass Effect 3 and Batman for example].

Sorry for the rant but Nintendo needs to step their game up. I miss them when they where an actual game company, not gimmick creators.

Yes. And I believe nSMB2 on the 3DS is better than the WiiU one. That game is better fit to portable.

Just zooming on pixels doesn't sound too great to me. BUT since the 3DS has good resolution, it would be a great idea.

It would look exactly the same as the N64/GB thing, because TV's are HD now, and the DS is not.

Yeah, I can't even play a DS ROM at full screen on my laptop without getting annoyed at how pixelated it is >.<

I loved the Game Boy player on the Game Cube, I would love for the DS to get one and the tablet should make that possible.  It wasn't blurry so a DS player wouldn't be either.

But the Game Boy was Standard, as was the gamecube.

Wii U is HD, I don't think 3DS is Hd, correct me if I'm wrong.

I never had a problem, i would just stick my hdmi cable into my pc and tv, use emulators to emulate, and use xbox controller to play.

the tablet would still be blurry because it's even bigger than the xl screen, and you complain about how blurry that is already.

It will be met with harsh criticism and most will not like it unless game devs can make an hd version of their ds games to void blurry ness when it gets used with wiiu player thing, which cost even more money and slow sales of everything even more as game devs wont want to put that much time and effort into a game that probably wont make much money as is.

They need to scrap the WiiU and try again.

Not when the WiiU is HD and the DS is not. the GC/GBA era had SD TV's and shiz, now that everything is HD, it will make it very bad.

But you can control how much resolution the Wii U can put out. Their's a setting for it, and if a DS Player of sorts does come out on the Wii U, it definitely can play up to 480p showing normal resolution of a 3DS.

By the way, their's gonna be a Nintendo Livestream tomorrow all about new Wii U Games. Maybe something interesting will pop-up.

I didnt think that would happen since it was on the gamecube which wasnt too old and though I kind of wanted it to be a new one, but if it's srs then wind waker remade could potentially be crazy good. :o

The new one isn't developed by HAL. It's developed by Namco-Bandai in association with Sakurai (the original creator of Smash and Kirby).

It will be made for both 3DS and WiiU.
That's about all we know I think.

Hmm, I didn't notice this topic at all! Just when I started getting bored of this place again.

Anyways back on topic. I think the Wii U could use some more 'big' games. The fact that alot of big games are skipping the WiiU is depressing. I may not be interested in the games (Saints Row 4 for example) but I'd like to see them on there anyway.

More specific examples of what I think the Wii U could use would be are kinda generic, but I'll explain why in detail.

-Zelda Game: (2 Already confirmed, a Remake and a new title) that make good use of the Gamepad. I'd like to see them do more than just an inventory screen. It could be used to shoot arrows, similar to the Nintendo Land Mini Game.

-A Mario Game: Mario Galaxy and Mario Galaxy 2 were great games. But they just didn't compare to Mario Sunshine. Even though I still havn't beaten the game (Sunshine) yet, it still feels like it's better than Galaxy, probably because of the environment between actual levels. If Nintendo can make a game like Sunshine, then I'd gladly buy that Day 1

-F-Zero: The virtual console release of F-Zero for the Wii U is a tease. I never really played the game aside from the SNES and I think the GBA version. But theirs so much potential for it on both the Wii U and the 3DS (3DS especially) Hopefully Nintendo see's that and makes it happen

-Pokemon: I've never played Colosseum of XD: Gale of Darkness, but they look awesome. I know a lot of the whole experience could be left out. But it seems like a good way to really make a good story for a Pokemon game.

-Sonic: They need a good Sonic game to recover from Sonic 06 and Unleased. Generations is a great game and it's cool to see that Sonic is recovering. Now if they can bring back the multiple playable concept then I'd be really happy. Use of the game pad I'm not sure how that could be used but they'll think of something.

-Bring back some classics: I somewhat grew up with games like Tony Hawk Pro Skater, and random Advenure games, Pac-Man Adventure being a poor example of that. I'd like some nostalga games. I'd like to be able to experience the classic Tony Hawk style in the new generation. No gimmicks.

-Rhythm games: Now that the new generations of consoles are here, I want to at least see some of the old rhythm games come back like Rock Band, just so I have something to do if I ever get bored or beat all my bigger games. But it doesn't have to be just Rock Band, Games like Elite Beat Agents (Never Played) Bit Trip Saga, and Rhythm Thief are good examples. These games could easily be good for the eShop.

-Semi Social features: Now that the Wii U has a more social online system (and better online overall) I'd like some more ways to interact with people. If we could link our Facebook or Twitter account to our Miiverse Account I'd be happy. It would be cool to be able to post your accomplishments or even doodles to those outlets to other places than just MiiVerse.

I could see GTA V being big on wiiU.

They wanted to make gta v on wiiu originally. But gace up because it was difficult to program and would push the release back. Also nintendo might not even let them. Shame. The map on the screen of the pad would be awesome. Same with the character wheel.
