Title: How Close Are You Following The Presidential Elections?
Post by: Aperl on November 06, 2012, 09:45:18 pm
I don't want this to become a political debate thread, I just want to know how interested you are into American politics (for US and non-US residents).

Personally, I am following the results with a distracted eye, I don't think the outcome will affect me that much, I am just curious as to who will be chosen for this complicated mandate.

Politics affect my age group, my gender group, my field of study and work, but never has a regime affected me directly. My life is already not going that well, I don't think Obama or Romney will make it worse, nor better.
Of course I have a preference, but I'll not spend the whole year complaining if the other one gets in.

I honestly don't care much about the election, considering that I have a dislike for both the candidates.

Also, apparently as I was typing this, they just announced that Obama won :P

18-30, Male, Technology.
I just meant that it does not touch me as a person. I am not important enough as a person to have a political party dealing with me. If I lose my job, it won't be because of one or the other.
Everybody's just complaining or praising at the government, but actually nobody says "Man, I just got robbed, if only the Republicans were in place" or "Yay my interview went well, thanks Obama!". We're just the little people, we're the pawns of a worldwide chess game.

Obama is basically doing whatever he can to keep college aged students (18-30) better education, by unvesting in education and technology and creating more tech jobs. He does affect you.

Although if you believe that, the green party or libertarian party would probably welcome you with open arms. :x

There's one more detail you did not take into account, but you couldn't know for I have never expressed it.
But don't get me wrong, I was for Obama too, all the way. And I respect people who voted otherwise, democracy is important and I have nothing to say about people who do not share my view or have different, but non-less important values.

Then, it affects my country (possibly) and later on affect corporations (for which I may, or may not be working for) and then I risk, perhaps, to have my job lost. And if this happens, I won't be like "Damn, Romney would've saved me." ^^

Umm... at least you know I'm a male :P.
Were you in my situation, you would... disapprove what I'm doing. Oh.
Better part-truth than complete lies, don't you think?
I'm 24 and working as a mechanical engineer. Does that suffice?

Better drink his own pee. (Sorry, that was the most intelligent thing I could come up with.

I've reached that state of fulfillment of mysteriousness when whatever I say is doubted. Could you believe now that I have nothing to hide? ;)

A pothead would never win an election :P

anyway thank goodness that Obama won.  I would taken a Jar of Laxatives over a psychopath like Romney.  Even with the cheating, Romney couldnt handle the obviousness that a second term is usually obvious.

He quit a long time ago. He did it in his teens like most people do, then he quit, joined survivor 3 times, became a govenor somewhere, and climbed mount everast weeks before the election began with an injury. He's bad ass yo. >:U

But anyways, I didn't vote, and won't. I'm following the elections, but eh. We'll somehow get Bush in the end, again.

Obama wont start a war for oil, nor will he give tax cuts to the rich, nor will he fire everyone who says no, nor will he hide his budgets.

Which is why I prefer Democrats over Republicans any time. I don't support either party, but at least Democrats have their stuff more put together.

Dems understand the economy better because they tend to be the ones who grew up in a middle class family and had to work for everything while GOP members were just given everything and never learned the value of a dollar or how money works.

It sucks though that the GOP is the only platform that supports gun rights. :<

All guns are created equal.
Gun rights :P

But Bow&Arrows are still treated as second class citzens!  It's a valid lifestyle and those damn Right Wings are being racist by hating on the Bows!  Projectile Weapons deserve the right to shoot what ever projectiles they want!  Fight the power!

Everyone should own and carry a gun because it's easier than carrying a cop.

And back in the day when errbody owned guns, crime wasn't as common because the criminals were worried about wether or not the victim had a gun or not. >.>

He would have to spend another 20k because they have to set it up again and get permits and a whole bunch of other stuff and he's too cheap for that.
